Comparing Walt Disney World Resorts. Which Resort Should I Choose?

Need help figuring out which Disney Resort to choose? Here's some information on the Resorts and what they will offer you.

The All-Star Resorts are Disney's least expensive hotel option. The rooms are comfortable and clean and they are fairly new Resorts. There is a food court where you can get a variety of food to eat. The down side to these Resorts is that they tend to be noisier because they are often the Resorts of choice for youth groups and young people. The plus side is that these are very affordable, even cheaper than staying off Disney property at rates starting at $77 a night and sometimes even lower. Disney has been consistently running specials that bring that price down as low as in the $57 range. That usually happens during their slowest season. You can check for specials on our website at Disney Specials. The seasons and rates for the Disney Resorts can be found at Disney Room Rates. The All-Star Resorts sleep four guests. Connecting rooms can be requested.

Disney Moderate Resorts include the Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. Rates start at $133, but again, Disney runs specials on these that bring that price down to under $100 at times, making them a great bargain. Port Orleans Riverside has rooms that sleep five guests with a trundle bed. The other Moderate Resorts sleep four guests. Some of the advantages of these Resorts over the All-Star Resorts is that they have slightly larger rooms, large or multiple pools, some with water slides, full service restaurants in addition to a food court and recreational activities such as paddleboats, biking and fishing. You need to check each Resort description to see which of these options is available, on our website at, Disney Resorts. One of my favorites is Coronado Springs. There is a very large pool there with a water slide and kids playground. See my review, recommendations and photos of Coronado Springs at Coronado Springs.

Disney's Home Away from Home Resorts are designed for larger families or groups of up to 12 people or those wishing more spacious rooms and suites. These include, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk Villas, Old Key West Resort, Beach Club Villas and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Prices start at $229 and go on sale at various times of the year as well. The room options are varied, from a Wilderness Cabin that sleeps six to a three bedroom four bath Grand Villa. The most affordable of these Resort options is the Wilderness Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These are rustic cabins set in the woods. Fort Wilderness is just a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom giving it a distinct advantage over many of the other Resorts. There are campfire activities and two pools. Other sections of Fort Wilderness are for RV use and tent campsites that start at $34. You can rent a golf cart to get from one end of this Resort to the other. There are two stores, a restaurant and the Hoop Dee Doo Review Dinner Show is located here. See, Disney Resorts, for more info on these Home Away From Home Resorts.

Disney's Deluxe Resorts are their premier Resorts. These include, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian Resort and the Grand Floridian. Prices start at $194 and go on sale during the slow times of the year. The most affordable option is the Wilderness Lodge. This Resort is also just a boat ride from the Magic Kingdom. The next most affordable Deluxe Resort would be the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here you can get a room with bunk beds for the kids and a view of the Animal Kingdom savannah animals from your window. The Polynesian Resort is an all-time favorite and hosts the Luau Dinner Show. The Polynesian, the Contemporary Resort and the Grand Floridian are also on the monorail system. Most rooms sleep four but some of the Resorts offer suites and larger rooms that sleep more people. See, Disney Resorts for more information on each Resort.

Whichever Resort you choose you will be privy to the excellent Disney hospitality and service that comes with staying at a Disney Resort. All Resorts are kept in impeccable condition and include those fun little extras like Mickey Mouse soap and lithographs of Disney movies or characters on the walls. You are sure to have an enjoyable stay no matter which Resort you choose.
